A Year on Planet Earth - Summer
ITV
In 2020/21 spent 8 months on Marion Island filming across all episodes of ITV's A Year on Planet Earth, making me the lead cinematographer for the series. My mission was to capture the life cycle of a King Penguin, from egg to adult, to document the struggles that they encounter through their adolescence and into adulthood. They begin life as an egg, protected by their parents from the many perils, but once hatched they have to avoid predation from Giant Petrels, Skua's and being squished by elephant seals. All whilst their parents dodge Orca and fur seals in the cold waters of the southern ocean.
